Snowshoeing

Off the beaten track fans of snowshoeing enjoy a particular and unique experience. The woods and paths around the Plose, covered in deep snow, offer easy, shallow sections up to steep and more challenging tours.

Our recommendations:

Snowshoeing to the Skihütte
This easy tour begins at the starting point of the footpath to the Rossalm. The tour leads through an easy, sometimes shallow area in a southeast bounded direction. After approx. 15 minutes you reach a bifurcation and then turn right to the Skihütte. The last, short part follows the slope border. The route is approx. 3 km. For that you can calculate about 1,5 hours. The way back conducts through the same route.

Snowshoeing to the Rossalm
You cross the Palmschoss slope and then you start for a short snowshoeing towards the Rossalm. Once you cross the slope, stay right and follow the direction signs until the Rossalm. The walk is suitable especially for beginners and for families and has a magnificent view over the Peitlerkofel and the Geislerspitzen. The trail has an easy ascent of 2,5 km and in about 45 minutes it leads to the Rossalm. For the way back you can take the same way or use a prepared winter trail.
